Twisted Pride

Title: Twisted Pride
Series:The Camorra Chronicles #3
Author: Cora Reilly
Released: April 12th 2019
Genre: Romance, New Adult, Contemporary
Standalone: Yes, I would recommend reading the previous books.

Remo Falcone is beyond redemption. As Capo of the Camorra he rules with a brutal hand over his territory – a territory the Chicago Outfit breached. Now Remo is out for retribution. A wedding is sacred, stealing a bride sacrilegious. Serafina is the niece of the Boss of the Outfit, and her hand has been promised in marriage for years, but kidnapped in her wedding dress on her way to church by Remo, Serafina quickly realizes that she can’t hope for saving. Yet, even in the hands of the cruelest man she knows, she is determined to cling to her pride, and Remo soon understands that the woman at his mercy might not be as easy to break as he thought. A ruthless man on a quest to destroy the Outfit by breaking someone they are supposed to protect. A woman intent on bringing a monster to his knees. Two families that will never be the same.

Remo is a ruthless Capo, I was surprised how strong Serafina was. From the outside, she was just an ice princess but she was more than that. She was strong and brave. She was the perfect match for him. However I've some issues with this book, But I understand the plot and also what the author wanted to deliver. This book was both great and disappointing at the same time.

I liked the pace of the first half of the story however it just rushed into the second part. Overall it's a good story.

I was a bit reluctant to read it because it's really long but I am glad I gave this book a try. If I didn't I wouldn't know what I was missing. I must admit the beginning of the book was very slow. Also, I felt tons of information was thrown towards the end like a bucket full of water. It could have been progressed slowly. I was almost lost because lots of information at the same time does that. Both protagonists are excellent. Poppy is a maiden, I felt bad for her. She didn't have any choice in her life. Everything was already decided for her because she is the maiden. She longed for a normal life. Even though she is sheltered, she isn't weak. Rather she can fight, protect herself on her own which I loved. Now Hawke or Casteel, how I do mention him. From the beginning, he felt suspicious to me. But I didn't thi...
