This book is surprisingly good. I didn't like the blurb , but it have very positive reviews which led me to read this book.

This book also have flaws. Kate took too much crap of Shane and he took her for granted. Eventually things turns out good, but I wish Kate was a bit more strong. Other than that it's a very good story

Many people think Toru is a bland character but for me, he is just a lonely teenager who is thrust upon the life of adulthood. He isn't emotionally ready and may never be. This book is his journey to accept grief and live his life. "How many sundays- how many hundreds of Sundays like this - lay ahead of me? Quite, peaceful and lonely," I said aloud to myself. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe My rating: 5 of 5 stars Before reading Things Fall Apart, I never knew Africa has such great literature. Don't get me wrong. I knew nothing about Africa before. What I knew was what I saw in the media. Media stereotypes Africa as a way that we think they are dumb and need the help of other countries. But this book changed my thoughts of Africa. After reading this book I realized how delusional I had. I felt ashamed and realized the power the media have.
