Review: Flutter

Flutter by Olivia Evans My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is so good. It gave me so many feels. This is me reading this book. Now someone hold me because I am wrecked. This book is tragic. The author is really talented. There were times I was completely shocked by the event that was playing out. Dylan and Presley are a perfect match. What happened to Presley was terrible. Presley's father should rot in jail. I didn't feel any sympathy for Presley's mother either. Cody's story was kinda felt predictable, it was intriguing at the beginning but I kind of guessed what can happen later but still, I enjoyed it.  I wish there were more elaborated epilogue. Both Presley and Dylan love each other fiercely I felt I needed more of them, I am glad they both fought every obstacle and finally found happiness. It will be hard for Presley, she has to adjust with everything after what was done to her by her parents but Dylan will be with her and I kno

Review: Angry God

Angry God by L.J. Shen My rating: 1 of 5 stars I only read this book because of all the positive reviews. I did not finish the previous book in this series because that was really bad. Turns out this book is also the same. For some reason, I feel this series is overhyped.  Even though it's Vaughn's story I felt Vicious is the hero because towards the end Vicious is the one who killed the person who molested Vaughn. It should have done by Vaughn because it's his story. Vicious and Emilia barely had any scenes. It felt the author tried hard to make a bond between Vicious and Vaughn and she failed miserably. One thing bothered me a lot, the repetition of the same thing over the book. The author does the same thing for almost all her books. It wasn't intriguing, it felt more basic. I don't understand the point of Vaughn's bullying Lenora. It didn't make any sense and whats this blood-drinking crap? It was gross. I didn't f

Review: Things Fall Apart

Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe My rating: 5 of 5 stars Before reading Things Fall Apart, I never knew Africa has such great literature. Don't get me wrong. I knew nothing about Africa before. What I knew was what I saw in the media. Media stereotypes Africa as a way that we think they are dumb and need the help of other countries. But this book changed my thoughts of Africa. After reading this book I realized how delusional I had. I felt ashamed and realized the power the media have. I am a big fan of postcolonial literature, diasporic literature, mainly anything that deals with colonization. As a fellow Bangladeshi, I know the impact of colonization. Everything in Bangladesh screams the movements of colonization. Achebe's book "Things Fall Apart" is a remarkable tale that gives us a beautiful and unique culture Africa had and how it was ruined by the Europeans. This novel tells us about Okonkwo, an Igbo man from Umofia. The nov

The Hades Hangman

Series: Hades Hangmen Author: Tillie Cole Genre: New Adult, Dark Romance Published:  April 26th, 2014   -   February 4th, 2020 Standalone any Books: No I finished the Hades hangmen series today and My Maddie's is the last book of it (for now). It took me almost a week to finish them and before starting the crap that "you have no life bullshit", I read a lot, and if I really like a series I can't focus on anything unless I finish it. Anyway, Hades Hangman is an emotional series to me. Tillie cole not only writes broken heroine, but she also did damn well with broken heroes too. There were many times I had to pause because it was so descriptive. I cried but also felt joy when the characters was able to find happiness. Sinning never felt so good… A fortuitous encounter. A meeting that should never have happened. Many years ago, two children from completely different worlds forged a connection, a fateful connection, an unbreakable bond that would change th

Queen of The Underworld

Title: Queen of the underworld Series: Tale of Olympus #3 Author: Lee Savino, Stacia Black Genre: Dark Romance, Erotica Published: June 1st, 2015 Standalone: No The King of the Underworld saved me from the streets, Treated me like a princess, And locked me in a tower. Then he turned into a beast. There's a darkness in him. I've seen it face to face. He says I'm his light. But if our love is going to last, I'm going to have to be more than his princess. I need to become a Queen. The final chapter in Marcus and Cora's story. This is the end of the trilogy of Cora and Marcus. I enjoyed the series, the ending was alright. However, it was surreal how Cora just changed suddenly. I know she needed to be strong, and it's fitting but I don't know, it just didn't felt right that she abruptly changed. Marcus is still the alpha male he was, but he became almost a lovesick puppy in this book. I understand the changes but it just felt something was

The Maddest Obsession

Title: The maddest obsession Series: Made#2 Author: Danielle Lori Genre: Romance, Contemporary Published: April 15th, 2019 Standalone: Yes (I recommend reading the first book) She fears the dark. He rules it. Her dresses are too tight, her heels too tall. She laughs too loudly, eats without decorum, and mixes up most sayings in the book. Little do most know it’s just a sparkly disguise, there to hide one panic attack at a time. Nobody can crack Gianna’s facade . . . no one anyway, until he comes along. Most see a paragon of morality; a special agent upholding the law. In the New York underworld, others know him as a hustler, a killer, his nature as cold as the heart of ice in his chest. Christian Allister has always followed the life plan he’d envisioned in his youth, beneath the harsh lights of a frigid, damp cell. With a proclivity for order and the number three, he’s never been tempted to veer off course. But perhaps one should never say never . . . One winter night and

Awakening

Title: Awakening Series: Dark Mafia Romance#2 Author: Lee Savino Released Date:  March 15th, 2015 Genre: Erotica, Romance Standalone: No When a rock god asks Cora to help find his missing fiance, she befriends both a stripper and a hacker genius to help her search the city of Olympus. But will they save the woman in time with the evil of the underworld standing in their way? Zeus is the mayor, Cora is Persephone and Hades is "business man" and mob boss Marcus Ubeli in this retelling of the Greek Myth "Orpheus and Eurydice." This is my favorite book in the trilogy. This is the second installment and it had more action. Cora was naive but she was fighting and Marcus was the perfect alpha male in this mafia world. The plot was good, I was always on the edge to see what happens.  It had action and filled with so many emotions. The book ends with a cliffhanger so I had to jump for the next book immediately to see what happened. That's how muc

Enemies  is such a beautiful story. It's raw, emotional and angsty. Dusty was such a remarkably s

The Sweetest Oblivion

Dark Notes

Title: Dark Notes Author:   Pam Godwin Genre: Erotica, Adult Fiction, Romance Published April: 3rd 2016 Standalone: Yes  They call me a slut. Maybe I am. Sometimes I do things I despise. Sometimes men take without asking. But I have a musical gift, only a year left of high school, and a plan. With one obstacle. Emeric Marceaux doesn’t just take. He seizes my will power and bangs it like a dark note. When he commands me to play, I want to give him everything. I kneel for his punishments, tremble for his touch, and risk it all for our stolen moments. He’s my obsession, my master, my music. And my teacher. Dark Note is a forbidden student/ teacher romance. I didn't have many expectations from this book. I thought it would be another erotica about a forbidden relationship between an old teacher and his very young student. I read a few pages and already realized it's more than that. It's an emotional steamy novel with a very solid plot. Ivory didn't have a

The Great Gatsby

Title: The Great Gatsby Author:  F. Scott Fitzgerald Genre: Historical Fiction, Literature, Classic Published: 1925 Standalone: Of Course The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald's third book, stands as the supreme achievement of his career. This exemplary novel of the Jazz Age has been acclaimed by generations of readers. The story is of the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his new love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan, of lavish parties on Long Island at a time when The New York Times noted "gin was the national drink and sex the national obsession," it is an exquisitely crafted tale of America in the 1920s. The Great Gatsby is one of the great classics of twentieth-century literature. This novel is tragic. I liked  F. Scott Fitzgerald writing style because it's very descriptive and helped me to understand the book. Gatsby's love for Dasy without a doubt was undeniable. However, I still wonder did Gatsby really loved Daisy or he just loved the i

Since I've read the whole series. Bound by Love is the sixth installment of Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles. This novel revolves around the couple from the first book, L
