Review: Sweet Hope

Sweet Hope by Tillie Cole This is my most favorite book in this series. Axel is trying to redeem himself for the things he had done in the past. When I read Sweet Fall , I knew Axel wasn't a bad person. He grew up in poverty and the gang life saved him and his family from his alcoholic father afforded his mothers medicine and siblings expenses. Everything he did was for his family. He wants to move on but also he is stuck because he thinks he doesn't deserve anything good. He is a damaged soul. He is living in the darkness all his life, but then he met Ally, someone he feels connected to. Ally is his hope for life. Ally is one of the best heroines I have read so far. She is supportive, compassionate, and understanding. She saw Axel's facade and understood him. She saw his worth when no one else's can and helped him to understand his worth as well. “You’re my reawakening.” And the romance between them was explosive. It was sexy, hot, and intense.

Review: Sweet Fall

Sweet Fall by Tillie Cole This is way better than Sweet Home . Both Lexi and Austin suffered a lot. However, they also understand each other the most when no one else's can. The way they supported each other is breathtaking. Lexi's eating disorder was illustrated perfectly, it also portrayed the impact of anorexia. Austin's life was full of struggle. Although many people might dislike Axel I still believe Austin was able to fulfill his dreams because of the sacrifices Axel made. I know Axel made mistakes but he is also a victim of poverty and environments. And Levi, the poor guy has the most innocent soul. I also liked how Rome helped Austin, he is a real good friend. Cass was also a good friend to Lexi. She understood her first before her other friends. Jimmy Don, Molly, and Aly was supportive too. The crew was great together. It was a very emotional book. If you are into a mood for fun, a light book it's not for you. If you want a book that's

Review: Norwegian Wood

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami My rating: 5 of 5 stars Norwegian Wood is a remarkable novel that deals with life, death and isolation. Many people think Toru is a bland character but for me, he is just a lonely teenager who is thrust upon the life of adulthood. He isn't emotionally ready and may never be. This book is his journey to accept grief and live his life. "How many sundays- how many hundreds of Sundays like this - lay ahead of me? Quite, peaceful and lonely," I said aloud to myself. On Sundays, I didn't wind my spring" Toru is terribly lonely. The people around him are very different and often he is only stuck by himself. Sometimes we are just all alone. The ending baffled me. But I think Toru tried to cut his association with death and move on and lead a happy life but he is stuck. For me, this book shows what Toru has become as an adult man in his life. In the beginning, we see him alone, reminiscing his past and

Review: The Kiss Thief

The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen My rating: 5 of 5 stars I was hesitant to start this book because I thought it's a love triangle. One of the worst tropes for me is the Love triangle. However, I decided to try it and I enjoyed it. I don't think this book actually had a prominent love triangle plot. It was more focused on Wolfie and Francesca. The blurb is misleading. It was clear from the beginning that it's about Francesca and Wolfe. Angelo was hardly in the story. I don't know if the author would come up with a sequel for him that would be a different story but in this book, Wolfe was the hero. I would love to read more about Angelo, his character was interesting. In the beginning, Wolfe annoyed me because he was such a jerk but later as the story progressed we see Wolfe in a different light. Turns out he is actually a good man, who deeply cares for Francesca. I loved how he supported Francesca on her choices. I liked Francesca too bu

Review: Black Knight

Black Knight by Rina Kent My rating: 5 of 5 stars One thing for sure is that the author's writing has improved. If she didn't drag Aiden and Elsa's story in three books I might have liked their story as well. What I missed in this book are Levi and Astrid. Their story was decent and it would have been great if there were also more glimpse of their life like the rest. The best part of this book was where Kir was included. That little guy literally lightens up my mood every time he appeared. Who goes to the bathroom of a friend's house and doesn't lock the door? It's Kimberly and that's how Xander found out she vomits the food she ate to lose weight. It worked for the story but this was pretty dumb. Other than these stupid mistakes it wasn't that bad. I have always been curious why Xander bullies Kimberly. The reason was shocking but also makes sense. Although it was a misunderstanding, luckily things went well. I didn&#

Review: Hideaway

Hideaway by Penelope Douglas My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was better than the first one from this series. I enjoyed the journey. Banks and Kai were decent protagonists. The push and pull between them kind of annoyed me but at the same time I enjoyed it. Banks being Damon's sister was a big plot twist. I didn't see that coming. I was annoyed seeing everyone's shitty parents such as Micheal's, Damon's and Rika's. It was good to see Kai have decent parents. It's a good change otherwise, it would feel repetitive. Will was almost nonexistent in this book. Alex was great. However, something about this series doesn't feel right. I feel the author tried desperately to make the character's dark, mysterious but it seemed forced, not natural. Everyone desperately wants to be bad guys or bad girls in this book. It's like forcing darkness when there isn't any. View all my reviews

Review: Wall Street Titan

Wall Street Titan by Anna Zaires My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is cute and intense at the same time. I loved everything about this book. Marcus and Emma is a very interesting couple. I adored Emma, she is cute and adorable. I liked how she was caring for her cats. She was really a perfect cat lady. It was enjoyable to see how Emma and Marcus's relationship progress. I would have loved this book more if it didn't end with a cliffhanger. But I understand why the author did it. She just wanted to make a sequel, other than that I don't see any reason for the cliffhanger, it seemed forced. There are many adorable moments in this book that made me laugh. I didn't expect this book to be cute. It was a good surprised and I enjoyed every bit of it. View all my reviews

Review: Breaking Love

Breaking Love by B.B. Reid My rating: 5 of 5 stars The only decent couple of this series. I liked the other couples too but they were kind of toxic except this couple. They were normal among them. This book was great. View all my reviews

Review: I, Porn Star

I, Porn Star by Zara Cox My rating: 5 of 5 stars The title of the book is totally misleading. This book is not only about sex but, revenge, tragedy, and survival. I think it falls into the category of romantic suspense. Both Quinn and Elyse were broken, but also survivors of tragic past. I won't lie that sometimes I was truly irritated because of all the suspense but then the author would drop a hint of what might happened and I am alert again. This was a page-turner but I still think in the beginning I felt it was dragged. But towards the end, everything falls into places and make sense. I still didn't like how Quinn played mind games with Elyse. But in the beginning, I am sure he didn't realize he would fall for her. He just couldn't stay away from her and the only way he could be with her was with all the mind games he played. I would have loved more scenes of Quinn's father, stepmother, and therapist's fall. The plot was u

Review: Scandalous

Scandalous by L.J. Shen My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was the best book in this series. Edie was the best heroine. She was young yet so strong. And Trent was likable too. Edie's relationship with Luna was so sweet. Edie's father was a jerk, but she tried her best to do what she can in the circumstances and Trent helped her in every way he can. There's some misunderstanding, but the plot twist at the end shocked me. I never expected Luna's mother having an affair with Edie's father. In the end, everything turns out well and I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. View all my reviews

Review: Sin & Discipline

Sin & Discipline by Lily White My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is addictive and interesting. When I started reading this book I was immediately absorbed in it. The way Amelia and Lennon met was interesting. I liked Lennon, he is protective, caring and a complete alpha male. Amelia was struggling, she is ambitious but naive and poor. Both Lennon and Amelia struggled, Lennon found his way out and Amelia still needs time. She is young, trapped in poverty. I loved how Lennon took care of her. Amelia needed him and he was there for her in every way. The twist at the end was shocking but that made his story even more captivating. Overall, it's a good book. View all my reviews

Review: Unbreak My Heart

Unbreak My Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is surprisingly good. I didn't like the blurb , but it have very positive reviews which led me to read this book. This book also have flaws. Kate took too much crap of Shane and he took her for granted. Eventually things turns out good, but I wish Kate was a bit more strong. Other than that it's a very good story View all my reviews

Review: A Hunger Like No Other

A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was a completely new experience for me. This book had so many creatures. Lachlain and Emma is a unique couple. Half of the book Lachlain irritated me, but later half of the book he became so sweet and possessive, totally loved it. View all my reviews

Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie My rating: 5 of 5 stars The book had so many things going on. It's very interesting. Through this book, I get to know about 'Nollywood' which I previously had no idea. This book is a must-read if you want to know racism and feminism. View all my reviews

Review: Luca Vitiello

Luca Vitiello by Cora Reilly My rating: 5 of 5 stars I really enjoy mafia romance and Cora Reilly is one of my favorite authors. This book gives us Luca Vitiello's backstory and the events of Bound by honor from his perspective. Luca is a ruthless capo. I loved his relationship with his brother. We also see Aria's growth from Luca's point of view. This book is excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves mafia romances. View all my reviews

Review: Fearless

Fearless by B.B. Reid My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is the last book of the series. There were so many things happening and I was always on the edge to know what happens next. It was filled with plot twists and suspense. The final conclusion of the series was great. View all my reviews

Review: Fear You

Fear You by B.B. Reid My rating: 5 of 5 stars This series is intense. it's a dark romance with a dark plot. This book revealed lots of Kiernan's past and it makes a lot of sense why Kiernan is like the way he is. I adored Lake and Kiernan together. View all my reviews

Review: Fear Me

Fear Me by B.B. Reid My rating: 5 of 5 stars I really liked this book. The main protagonist's chemistry was great. However, I've few issues with this book. I don't usually read force seduction kinda book. For me, the first sex scene wasn't consensual and when the female protagonist says that every time he leaves her after sex she feels a part of her is lost, I felt terrible. Although she loves him from the beginning but it just didn't felt right. I don't like this kinda shit most of the time but this book was an exception. Maybe it's because of the plot as there's always something happening. The author pulled it off quite well and I don't know, I enjoyed the story. View all my reviews

Review: Rival

Rival by Penelope Douglas My rating: 5 of 5 stars https://officialbookcritic.blogspot.c... This is the second book of Fall Away series and also my most favorite book. This book focuses on Maddox and Fallon. Maddox was introduced in the first book, he is the best friend of Jared. I was immediately fascinated by his character, especially when Tate and Jared started their relationship and he was so supportive of his friend. I felt he is a genuine guy. Unlike Maddox, Fallon is a completely new character for me. There is a tension between Maddox and Fallon, it later was revealed they were secretly dating. Although I thought I wouldn't like Fallon because she was really mean at the beginning of the book, my mind changes completely as the story progresses. The plot unravels and we realize both Maddox and Fallon suffered but what Fallon went through was much harsher than Maddox Maddox was lied by his stepmother who is Fallon's biological mother. She

Review: Broken Prince

Broken Prince by Erin Watt My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is way better than Paper princess. It was completely thrilling. Especially towards the end , I wanted to know what would happen. I am not sure if the series is good or not but it's really addictive. It's easy to read and also fun. There's lots of drama and also many plot twist. Many things from paper princess is explained in this book such as Reed actually didn't cheat, the twins are sharing their girlfriend, Gideon's story etc. Easton is a lot funnier here than the previous book. I was a bit annoyed at Ella. The first half of the book she was kind of irritating but then she got better. Val is a really good friend. This book is definitely a soap opera, filled with lots of dramas, plot twist, cute/adorable moments, friendship and romance. View all my reviews

Review: Hook Shot

Hook Shot by Kennedy Ryan My rating: 5 of 5 stars I almost gave up on this author. In Long Shot , I just didn't felt enough connection between the protagonist's and Block Shot is total rubbish. I was reluctant to start this book but when Lotus was introduced in Long Shot , I immediately liked her. Her bond with Iris was remarkable. I am glad I decided to read it because when I finished it, I realized this book is just incredible. Lotus is strong and independent. She knows what she wants but her trauma is holding her back. A the beginning she kind of irritated me, especially when she broke up with Chase. This is what Lotus said when she broke up with him. “Awwww, is rejection new for you and your dick?” I make a fake sad face. “I feel so bad for the two of you.” I don't know if it's a good way to break up. The guy clearly cared for her. However, the guy turned out an asshole. he liked her but he also harassed her. He took her photo wh

Review: Mating Theory

Mating Theory by Skye Warren My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book is just awesome. The emotions, the feels. I absolutely loved it. I was totally invested in the plot. I kind of predicted what is going to happen but the author's writing style is remarkable and it kept me on the edge. It was a total page-turner. I finished it in one sitting. From the beginning the chemistry between Sutton and Ashleigh was undeniable. The age gap, social status, everything made it some sort of taboo aspect of their relationship. But they overcome every difference. They find each other at a time they needed each other. The separation towards the end was unnecessary. I understand Ashleigh was underage and Sutton wanted to let her experience her life before settling down. But it just felt totally unnecessary, because they could have contact in the meantime without engaging in the sexual act until she becomes an adult. Good thing, both of them remain celibate. I am tired o
